Nadenken is de essentie van filosofie, daarom voorzien we jullie deze week elke dag van een (filosofische) quote waarmee jullie peinzend in de verte kunnen kijken, zoals het een goede filosoof betaamt.

Maandag is voor de meeste mensen de zwaarste dag van de week. Als ook jij het eventjes niet meer ziet zitten om maandagochtend je boeken open te slaan, kan je je misschien optrekken aan deze quote van de eeuwige optimist Marcus Aurelius. Om ervoor te zorgen dat jullie maandag rustig verloopt, organiseren we vandaag geen activiteiten.

Wij zijn er echter zeker van dat het volgende praesidium daar geen last van zal hebben na de machtsoverdracht! Dinsdag is het vanaf 21:00 immers inauguratiefakbar in het M-café, waarbij het oude triumviraat symbolisch de macht overdraagt aan het nieuwe triumviraat. Dit is ook de laatste fakbar van het semester, en dat wordt gevierd met een fakfeestje dat het thema ‘puber’ heeft. Bereid je alvast voor op hopen nostalgie!
Stress daagt ons uit om de zin van ons leven te vinden.

Toch hopen we dat jullie nog niet te veel stress hebben voor de nakende examens. Daarom hebben we op woensdag geen activiteiten, zodat er genoeg tijd is om te leren – of andere stressverminderende dingen te doen.
Het doel van de kunst is niet het uiterlijk van de dingen weer te geven, maar het innerlijk. Dat is de echte werkelijkheid.

Waarschijnlijk zullen de deelnemers van de Faculty STARs het met Aristoteles eens zijn. Op donderdag is er het Slotevent met een expo in de Universiteitshal. Iedereen is vrij om daar een kijkje te gaan nemen van 16:00 tot 22:30. Meer info en het volledige programma vind je op het Facebookevenement. NFK zal alvast aanwezig zijn!

Daar zijn wij het volmondig mee eens! Daarom houden we ook deze vrijdag nog een broodmaaltijd, de laatste van het jaar. Zoals altijd kan je tussen 12:00 en 14:00 in de lounge terecht voor de allerbeste boterhammetjes van de week!
Vrije tijd zonder studie is de dood, is een levend graf.

Omdat een levend graf ons niet meteen aanspreekt, stellen we voor om onze vrije zaterdag samen al blokkend door te brengen op onze studeerdag. Vanaf 10:00 nestelen we ons in de lounge om elkaar door die moeilijke teksten en je tot wanhoop drijvende papers te sleuren. Er zal ook een goedkope lunch voorzien worden.
EXTRA
Deze week behoudt de CuDi nog de normale openingsuren, volgende week is ze enkel open op dinsdag tussen 13:00 en 14:00. Dat is meteen ook de laatste keer dit semester dat de CuDi open is, dus kom zeker nog op tijd die laatste cursus halen!
De examens komen eraan, daar kunnen we jammer genoeg niet meer onderuit. Toch is er een lichtpuntje in deze moeilijke tijden: de bib is tot aan het einde van de blok open tot 22:00.

Just to make things run even smoother for you, we have foreseen no events on this day.

We are convinced that the transfer of power will not affect the quality of the next presidium! On Tuesday we will be holding the symbolic ceremony of inauguration at our fakbar in the M-café, whereby the current praesidium will be passing on the torch to the new praesidium. This will also coincide with a party to celebrate the last fakbar of the semester, under the theme of “Adolescent”. Prepare for some nostalgic moments!

We still hope you do not (at least yet) stress out about the coming exams. This is why we have no events scheduled on Wednesday, to make sure you have enough time to study, or alternatively practice other stress-relieving activities.

Most likely the participants of Faculty STARs will agree with Aristotle. On Thursday a closing ceremony is organized, including an exhibition at the university hall. Wholeheartedly agreed! Which is why this Friday we host another breadmeal, and this will be the last one of the academic year. As always, between 12:00 and 14:00 the best sandwiches of the week will be served in the lounge!

Because a tomb for the living man isn’t desirable, we propose to spend this Saturday studying together at our study day. From 10:00 we will settle ourselves in the lounge to help each other survive writing papers and reading texts. There will be a lunch for a small price.
EXTRA
This week our CuDi operates during its normal opening hours, next week it’s open only on Tuesday between 13:00 and 14:00. That is also the last time this semester that CuDi is open, so be sure to make it on time to buy that last course!
The exams are (unfortunately) unavoidably looming. Yet there is a ray of hope in these difficult times: the library will be open until 22:00 throughout the study period .
