Dit is het laatste weekoverzicht van dit semester, want zoals jullie allen hopelijk weten, gaat hierna de blok van start! Het begint weer; te laat opstaan en dan fingers crossed dat er nog een plaatsje in de bib is, hopen dat die zoveelste kop koffie verandering brengt in je concentratieniveau, de eindeloze stroom van memes en confessions online, het collectief wenen en tot slot het studeren zelf.

Maar eerst hebben we dus nog een week te gaan, waarin het fakteam een kerstfak organiseert op dinsdag! Om iedereen op tijd in zijn bedje te krijgen, sluiten we al om 01:00. Reden te meer om er vanaf 21:00 een laatste keer goed in te vliegen. (Extraatje: tussen 12:00 en 01:00 worden er kerstklassieker gedraaid!) Je kan verkleed komen als kerstman of in kersttrui, smoking, met een kerstbal in je oren… Degene die het leukst verkleed is, wint een prijs! Er zullen glühwein, kerstkransjes en NFKerstkaartjes verkocht worden. De kaartjes kosten 1 euro, de winst gaat naar een goed doel: Let Us Change.

Je vrijdag zal er deze week ook anders uitzien. Vanaf volgend semester zie je hier opnieuw de gebruikelijke formule, maar deze week is er geen broodmaaltijd.

Belangrijk voor zij die in een last-minute paniek nog cursussen bijeen moeten scharrelen: de cudi is enkel nog open op maandag deze week! Voorzie jouw intellectueel proviand tussen 19:30 tot 21:30.

NFK wenst je prettige feestdagen toe! Geniet ervan. Ook steunen we je tijdens de blok en examens. Succes! Leef bijvoorbeeld volgens dit motto ‘Het komt wel goed, en anders niet.’ of hetgeen hieronder:

NFKALENDAR

This is the last overview of the activities for this semester, because as you hopefully all know, the exams are about to start! It’s time again for getting up too late and fearing there’s no place left in the library, for hoping that the next cup of coffee will amend your concentration, for the endless stream of memes online, for the crying in collectivity and of course, for studying.

But first, there is a great activity you can’t miss. The fakteam organizes a Christmas fakbar on Tuesday! To make sure everyone gets in bed on time, we close at 01:00. Now you definitely have a reason to be there at 21:00 already! You can dress up as Santa Clause, or just wear a Christmas sweater, tuxedo, have a Christmas ball in your ear, anything goes! The one who’s dressed up best, wins something. There will be glühwein, cookies and NFK-Christmas cards. The cards will only cost you 1 euro, the profit goes to charity: Let Us Change. And if that isn’t enough, we will play classic Christmas songs from 12:00 to 01:00.

Your Friday will be different than normally as well. From next semester onwards, the usual formula will return, but there’s no bread meal this week!

Important for those who still have to look for coursebooks in a last-minute panic attack: the bookservice is only open this Monday from 19:30 to 21:30.

Aangezien de feestdagen eraan komen staat deze wegwijzer in het thema van feestdagen over heel de wereld. Dit doen we niet alleen om in de sfeer te komen maar ook om reistips te geven voor mensen die volgend jaar rond deze periode naar betere oorden willen trekken (waarschijnlijk zeer weinig mensen, aangezien we moeten studeren, maar misschien zijn er masterstudenten met plannen).

Maandag is er voor de verandering wel iets te doen. Om 20:00 vindt de infosessie van de cultuurreis plaats in aula B. De bestemming zal dan ook onthuld worden.

Ook zal maandag ‘De dag van de maagd van Guadalupe’ gevierd worden in Mexico. Het is een katholiek feest waar men viert dat een man de maagd Maria is tegengekomen in Mexico-stad op 9 én 12 december in 1531.

Dinsdag is het al tijd voor de laatste latefakbar van dit semester. Aangezien de echte filosofische gesprekken pas op gang komen na meerdere glazen wijn en laat in de avond, kan je de kans niet laten schieten om nog voor de laatste keer tot laat naar de fakbar te komen. Misschien brengt zelfs iemand je nog op een goed paperidee. De volgende week zal er ook nog een fakbar zijn maar die zal stipt om 2 uur eindigen.

Dinsdag zal het volle maan zijn in Sri Lanka en dat moet gevierd worden! Ongeveer elke maand is er een volle maan en iedere volle maan krijgt zijn eigen naam. Op de dagen van de volle maan worden belangrijke evenementen in het Boeddhisme herdacht.

Woensdag zijn er geen activiteiten gepland en kan je ook nergens in de wereld een feestje vieren.

Donderdag is er om 16:00 een pre-AV. Daar worden standpunten gevormd namens de filosofiestudenten om te vertegenwoordigen met betrekking tot verschillende beleidsvlakken die Stura en LOKO vertegenwoordigen. Om 16:00 zal ook ons Kerstmarktje beginnen. Je kan er genieten van chocomelk, glühwein, soep, hotdogs, gebak, jenever,…. Er zullen ook leuke spulletjes verkocht worden. Versiering en muziek zorgen mee voor de kerstsfeer.

Donderdag is ook geen feestdag ergens is de wereld maar na wat zoekwerk heb ik gevonden dat Ronnie Radke, Lady Lesshurr en Erika Tham op deze dag geboren zijn. Dus bij deze, gelukkige verjaardag.

Vrijdag is het wel al de allerlaatste broodmaaltijd van dit semester. Je bent er welkom vanaf 12:00 om zoveel te eten als je op kan voor maar 1,5 euro.

Op vrijdag wordt in Kazachstan de nationale feestdag gevierd.

BELANGRIJKE MEDEDELING:

Maandag 19 december zal jullie geliefde CuDi voor het laatst geopend zijn dit semester. Heb je nog cursussen nodig voor je examens? Dat is het laatste moment dat je er nog eentje op de kop kunt tikken in de CuDi, dus laat die kans niet aan je voorbijgaan.

Since the holidays are coming up, the NFKalendar will be in theme of holidays all over the world. We are not only discussing this to get in the mood for the holidays, but we also want to give you some ideas for planning a vacation next year (you probably won’t go on a vacation this period next year, but maybe there are some MA students who have crazy things planned).

Monday the info session for the culture trip will take place. It will start at 20:00 in aula B. The destination will also be revealed then.

On Monday there will also be a big party in Mexico. Because of the The Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe, that is a popular Catholic feast that celebrates the belief that a man encountered the Virgin Mary, Mexico’s patron saint, in Mexico City on December 9 and 12, 1531.

Tuesday it is the last time you can stay as late as you want in the Fakbar this semester. And as we all know real philosophical conversations only start to get interesting after a few hours of drinking. So don’t miss out and make sure to come to the M-café. The fakbar will open at 21:00. The week after there will be a fakbar, but only until 2 am sharp.

Tuesday there will be a full moon in Sri Lanka and that has to be celebrated. Every full moon (usually one a month) is a public holiday in Sri Lanka. Each of the full moons have its own name and they are days to commemorate key events in Buddhism.

Wednesday there will be no activities and there are also no holidays.

Thursday we have planned the Pre-AV at 16:00. On 16:00 the Christmas market will also start. You can enjoy glühwein, soup, hotdogs, cake and some other delicacies. Of course it’s not only food, we’ll also sell different things, like our funny philosophy T-shirts and Christmas cards. We’ll be there, with some music and Christmassy decoration.

Thurday is also a boring day if you want to have a party anywhere in the world. But after searching on the internet I found that Ronnie Radke, Lady Lesshurr and Erika Thame celebrate their birthdays on the 15 of December.

Friday is our last weekly breadmeal. It starts at 12:00, you can eat as much as you want for only 1,5 euro.

Friday the national holiday will be celebrated in Kazakhstan. The holiday marks the independence of Kazakhstan on 16 December 1991 following the collapse of the Soviet Union.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

On Monday the 19th of December, the Course Service will be open for the last time this semester. So, if you still need courses or readers for your exams, come and get them!
