Om de week goed te beginnen, start maandag hét meest kunstzinnige evenement van het jaar: de Open Expo! Samen met Mecenas organiseren we een week vol acts, performance, film en poëzie. De toegang tot de expositie is gratis. Kom maandag vanaf 20:00 dus zeker naar het Kartuizerklooster (Bankstraat 75) voor de receptie die het begin van deze kunstweek inluidt, met aansluitend de openingsspeeches van de praesides Cilia Gouwy (Mecenas) en Ewoud De Sadeleer (NFK). Vervolgens voorziet Mecenas ons van een interessante lezing door drs.Wendy Wiertz. Deze lezing met de naam “Omdat het leuk is!” gaat over de redenen toen en nu om de kunsten als hobby te hebben. Probeer dinsdag om 20:15 ook zeker een bezoekje aan de lounge te brengen. We organiseren namelijk een onderwijsbabbel om jullie mening over onderwijstopics te horen. We zullen het vooral hebben over de hervorming (voor aankomende studenten) van de optie algemene wijsbegeerte, die op de komende POC besproken zal worden. Als jullie echter zelf nog andere vragen, opmerkingen of klachten hebben, zijn jullie ook zeer welkom. Aarzel dus niet om even langs te komen en bij een lekker drankje jullie input te geven.

Elke week komen alle filosofen op dinsdag samen in onze vertrouwde fakbar het M-café en dat is ook deze week weer het geval. Vanaf 22:00 kan je ons vergezellen voor een gezellige avond in tof gezelschap!

Niemand mag woensdag ontbreken in het Kartuizerklooster, want het belooft een spetterende Open Expo-avond te worden! NFK opent de avond om 19:00 met kortverhalen en poëzie, waarna Kabloeng afsluit met een heus improtheather, komt dat zien!

Eigenlijk hebben we al iets te lang gewacht, dus nu is het hoog tijd om de innerlijke mens te spijzen en te laven. Donderdag vanaf 20:00 nodigen we jullie uit om in het Kartuizerklooster mee te genieten van lekkere kaas en heerlijke wijn. Daarvoor kan je je deze week voor slechts €5 inschrijven bij de cudi. Ook op deze avond blijven onze medestudenten je voorzien van hun voortreffelijke poëzie- en muziekperformances. Om de Open Expo feestelijk af te ronden, sluiten we de avond af met twee DJ’s.

X op een schatkaart verwijst naar de eindbestemming, zo duidt ook de broodmaaltijd op vrijdag het einde van de week aan. Tussen 12:00 en 14:00 zijn jullie allemaal welkom om de week in schoonheid af te sluiten, genietend van een lekkere en uiteraard niet dure maaltijd, voor €1.5, in de lounge.

NFKALENDAR

Open Expo is without doubt the most artistic event of the year! Together with student association Mecenas, we organise a week full of acts, performances, film and poetry. Starting from Monday at 20:00, you can come to the Kartuizerklooster (Bankstraat 75). The evening starts off with a reception, followed by the opening speeches of the praesides Cilia Gouwy (Mecenas) and Ewoud De Sadeleer (NFK). Pay a visit to the lounge on Tuesday at 20:15, because we’re organizing a talk about education and we want your opinion! You can come to us with all your questions, complaints, remarks and suggestions on education related topics. Later on we focus on the possible reformation of the Dutch program. We offer you answers to all your education questions and a nice drink, so don’t hesitate to stop by.

Every week on Tuesday, all the philosophers gather at our old and trusty fakbar, the M-café. You can join us from 22:00 for a fun evening in great company!

No one should be absent in the Kartuizerklooster this Wednesday, for it’s going to be a magnificent Open Expo evening! NFK starts the evening at 19:00 with short stories and poetry, followed with an improv-theater by Kabloeng.

Evidently we have more for you this week: on Thursday at 20:00, you can come to the Kartuizerklooster for some excellent cheese and delicious wine. You can sign up for only €5 at the cudi. Our fellow student will provide us with their outstanding poetry and music performances. As a grand finale, we have two DJ’s who’ll end the Open Expo in a festive way.

X on a treasure map refers to the final destination, and in the same way, the bread meal on Friday marks the end of the week. You’re all welcome between 12:00 and 14:00 to beautifully end the week, while enjoying nice and of course inexpensive meal, for  €1.5, in the lounge.

WEGWIJZER

Gegroet wijsgeren en wijsgegeerden, we rekenen erop dat het weekend jullie honger naar filofantastische evenementen weer flink aangewakkerd heeft, want we hebben voor deze week een zinnenstrelend recept samengesteld. Dus doe gerust uw bavetje (slabbetje voor de noorderbroeders) om en begin alvast te watertanden.

Maandag om 13:00 in groepswerklokaal 2 van de filosofiebib zetten we je creativiteit op een groot vuur, met de eerste redactievergadering van deWijzer. Als je zin hebt om je opborrelende ideeën met de rest van ons te delen of als je je schrijftalent ‘à point’ wil krijgen, ben je van harte welkom! Maandag beginnen ook de inschrijvingen voor de kaas-en wijnavond (26/02) tijdens de open expo. De inschrijflijst ligt in de Fbib, plaatsen kosten 5 euro en zijn beperkt!

Dinsdag bezoeken we in groep (gratis!) kunstenfestival Artefact in het STUK. Er is een rondleiding speciaal voor ons filosofisch afgekruid om 16:00 uur. We spreken 15:40 uur af aan het HIW opdat we samen kunnen gaan. Ook laten we dinsdag de laatstejaars humaniorastudenten proeven van de filosofie tijdens de openlesweek. Om 17 uur beantwoorden we al hun vragen vergezeld van vers gemaakte croques voor een vrije bijdrage. Kom zeker mee smullen en jouw eerste ervaringen delen met dit jeugdig geweld. Om 22:00 bereiken we collectief het kookpunt op onze Valentijnsfak. Als een avond vol schuimende studenten en ondeugende biertjes jouw hartje vol verwachting doet rommelen, spring dan gerust het M-café binnen. Een smaakvolle avond in thema belooft je honger zeker te stillen.

Woensdag om 22:10 houdt NFK in de Ambiorix (op de Oude Markt) weer een van haar steevast legendarische cantussen: de lustrumcantus! Op deze avond nemen we een gezellige zaal, mengen daarin menig studentenlied met de nodige liters bier, brengen dit geheel op smaak met enkele zorgvuldig uitgekozen ingetogen momenten, en dienen dit onder vakkundige muzikale begeleiding tezamen op aan iedereen die zich hiervoor via mail naar feest@nfk.be inschrijft. De cantus kost 12 euro voor leden, 14 voor niet-leden. Cantussen kan ook op eigen drank of water voor 4/5 euro (leden en niet-leden). Codices worden ter plekke verkocht aan 10 euro.

Donderdag kruiden we dan weer af met onze, inmiddels ook klassieke, Weltschmerz-dag. Deze dag brengen we vanaf 13:00 zachtjes sudderend in de lounge door, waar we onszelf en elkaar verwennen met de vreugde van gezelschap, de warmte van Disney-films, en het ontbreken van fel licht en schelle geluiden. Deze keer zelfs in onesie!

Vrijdag serveren we ten slotte weer brood, op smaak gebracht met elkaars verhalen over de voorbijgegane week. Het spreekt voor zich dat de lounge tijdens onze toffe broodmaaltijd van 12:00 tot 14:00 de place to be is om enkele geheime ingrediënten op te pikken van je medestudenten!

 TOEKOMSTMUZIEK

Reikt je interesse voor filosofie verder dan wat er in je cursussen wordt verteld? Wil je nieuwe wijsheden bespreken met medestudenten en een kenner van het vakgebied? Luister hier dan zeker naar! We doen bij dezen nogmaals een warme oproep aan iedereen om de online onderwijsevaluatie in te vullen. Je vindt de uitnodiging in je studentenmailbox. Enkel zo weet de faculteit immers of ze, net als onze NFK-week, drie Michelinsterren in de wacht kan slepen.

Vanaf het academiejaar 2015- 2016 wenst de faculteit wijsbegeerte de sluitingsuren van haar bibliotheek te vervroegen van 22.00 naar 20.00 uur tijdens de weken dat er les wordt gegeven. De beslissing is nog niet genomen, maar onze studentenvertegenwoordigers hebben duidelijk gemaakt dat ze het niet eens zijn met (het voorstel tot) de beslissing. Meer informatie, onder andere over acties, volgt.

Tenslotte rest er ons enkel nog te vertellen dat de openingsuren van de CuDi voor de rest van het semester maandag van 20:00 tot 22:00, dinsdag van 17:00 tot 19:00 en vrijdag van 12:00 tot 14:00 zijn.

NFKALENDAR

Dear philosophers, we hope the weekend has animated your hunger for philofantastic events, since we have made a sensuous recipe for this week. Grab your bib and start mouth-watering!

Monday at 13:00 in class room 2 in the library, we’ll put your creativity on a large fire with the editorial meeting of deWijzer. If you’d like to share you bubbling ideas with the rest of us or if you want to get your writing talent ‘à point’, we look forward to welcome you! Also on Monday, the subscriptions for the cheese-and-wine evening (26/02) at Open Expo start. A seat costs 5 euro, seats are limited!

Tuesday we collectively reach the boiling point on our Valentine pub evening. If a night full of foaming students and naughty beers rumble your heart with expectation, then join us from 22:00 in M-café. A tasteful evening in theme promises to satisfy your hunger.

Thursday we’ll season with our, famed and classical, Weltschmerz day. We’ll spend the day by simmering slightly in the lounge from 13:00, where we’ll treat ourselves to the joys of friendly company and of course, the warmth of Disney movies and the absence of bright light and loud noises. This time even in onesies! We also organize a (free!) philosophically guided trip to Artefact (arts exposition at STUK). The tour starts at 14:00. We gather at 13:40 at the HIW in order to arrive there as a group.

Friday we’ll end the week by serving bread, flavoured with each other’s tales from this week. Evidently the lounge is, during our great breadmeal from 12:00 to 14:00 the place to be if you want to pick up some secret ingredients from your fellow students for only 1.5 euro.

IN THE FUTURE…

Hereby we would like to invite everyone to fill in the online education evaluation. This is the only way for the faculty to know if they, just like our NFK-week, can drag three Michelin stars. Moreover, there’s even a cash prize for the function education of the faculty who has answered the most, so don’t hesitate and help us!

Finally the only thing we would like to say is that the opening hours of the CuDi for the rest of the semester are Monday from 20:00 to 22:00, Tuesday from 17:00 to 19:00 and Friday from 12:00 to 14:00.

As from the academic year of 2015- 2016, the faculty of philosophy wants to close the library at 8 PM instead of 10 PM during the weeks of classes. The decision has not yet been taken. Still the student representatives have made clear to oppose this (proposal to the) decision. More information, including about appropriate actions, will follow.

The student’s book service will be open this semester Monday from 20:00 til 22:00, Tuesday from 17:00 til 19:00 and Friday from 12:00 til 14:00.

Don’t forget to fill in the online students survey in order to improve the educational level of the HIW. The invitation is in the inbox of your students mail. Participation is of big importance for the faculty to know whether or not they’ve reached the level of 3 Michelin stars.
