WEGWIJZER

Deze week is het Kerstfeest. Daarom staat deze wegwijzer in het teken van Kerstmis, hoe we daarvan kunnen genieten door rustig vijf dagen aan een stuk cadeautjes te zoeken, door de feestdagen vol sfeer en zorgeloosheid door te brengen, al hangend in de zetel met een goede dosis eten en wijn … Euhm, secondje. Dat beeld klopt niet. Of toch alleszins niet zolang we studeren. Gebeurt het wel eens dat iemand zo’n gezellig beeld van de feestdagen schetst en er bij jou examenzorgen door je hoofd zullen spoken? Deze wegwijzer staat helemaal niet in het teken van de zorgeloze kerstsfeer, maar in het teken van dooddoeners in gesprekken.

Op maandag is er geen activiteit, maar wel volgende afbeelding:

Dinsdag is het de verjaardag van Sinterklaas! Hij is samen met zijn paard en pieten al langs geweest op het HIW en is al verder getrokken naar andere oorden. Als je toch verwend wilt worden, kan je naar de fakbar gaan! Zoals gewoonlijk is die vanaf 21:00 geopend. Verwen jezelf met een drankje en een gezellige babbel.

Na deze uitspraak is het gedaan met praten. Sfeer weg, discussie weg. ‘Dat is allemaal relatief.’ Of exclusief voor filosofen: ‘Dat is een topos.’

Woensdagavond is het een speciale avond! Het is dan weer tijd voor ons jaarlijks Kerstfeest! Voor slechts €12 als student (en €15 als prof) kan je genieten van een mooi versierde locatie (zaal ‘Pavo’ in J. Vandenbemptlaan 2), een 4-gangenmenu en veel sfeer. Dat is lang niet alles! Om 17u30 starten we al met een wake – waar staat de K in KUL anders voor? – daarna is iedereen welkom op een betoverende receptie vanaf 18u15. Het effectieve diner start rond 19u30 en daarvoor dien je jouw plekje te reserveren aan de balie van de bibliotheek.

Ook op donderdag is er geen activiteit.

Hierop zal gegarandeerd niemand nog een deftig antwoord weten te formuleren: (uit Black Books)

Op vrijdag is er onze wekelijkse broodmaaltijd, maar met een ‘kerstig’ tintje. De restjes van het diner, als die er zijn, worden geserveerd op de broodmaaltijd. Je kan dus een tweede keer genieten van al het lekkers dat je woensdag geproefd hebt en dat voor maar anderhalve euro.

TOEKOMSTMUZIEK

Op maandag 12/12 vindt in Aula B een presentatie plaats over de cultuurreis. De bestemming is voorlopig nog een verrassing. Als je benieuwd bent naar waar we heen gaan, welke leuke stad we bezoeken en waar we plezier, cultuur en filosofie gaan beleven, kom dan zeker naar de presentatie.

Iedereen is bijzonder.

Op dinsdag 13/12 wordt er een infosessie georganiseerd over de mogelijkheid van een buitenlands studieverblijf via het Erasmus+ uitwisselingsprogramma. Dit gaat door om 13:00 in lokaal A in het HIW. Alle bachelorstudenten (alle fases van de gewone bachelor en verkorte bachelor) zijn uitgenodigd om de sessie bij te wonen. Een studieverblijf in het buitenland geeft je diploma een extra dimensie en bezorgt je een schat aan levenservaring.

Mail jouw favoriete dooddoener (die niet in deze wegwijzer staat) naar pr@nfk.be. De leukste/ergste wordt opgehangen in de lounge!

Nog een laatste van onzentwege, om het af te leren (misschien telt dat ook al wel haha): ‘Jamaarja, weete, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger eh!’ (Tip: lees deze zin in plat Vlaams-Engels om het beter te maken.)

NFKALENDAR

This week, it’s time for our Christmas party! That’s why the theme of this NFKalendar is Christmas and how we can enjoy it without any worries, by shopping for presents for about five full days, and by hanging in the sofa around the Christmas tree with an abundance of food and wine… Uhhm, wait a second. That image isn’t exactly accurate. Or at least not as long as we’ll be students. Does it ever happen someone makes a sketch of peaceful, sorrowless holidays, while you’re sure your head will  be a blur of exam-worries? The theme of this NFKalendar isn’t about Christmas, it’s about certain sayings in conversations that can bring the mood down and just end the conversation abruptly.

On Monday, there are no activities, but we offer you this picture:

Tuesday is Saint Nicholas’ day! Since he already visited the HIW, you’ll have to treat yourself. The best way to do that is at the fakbar. It’s opened from 21:00 onwards. Treat yourself to a drink and a nice conversation!

Platitude to kill the mood: ‘It’s all relative.’ Or exclusively for philosophers: ‘That’s a topos.’

Wednesday evening is going to be a special night! It’s time for our Christmas party! For only €12 as a student (and €15 as a professor), you can enjoy a nicely decorated location (‘Pavo’ in J. Vandenbemptlaan 2), a 4-course meal and a lot of fun. Make sure to buy your ticket in the library! That’s not all, at 17:30 a Virgil will take place – there is a K in KUL, what did you expect? – and from 18:15 on, everyone is invited to a cozy reception. Dinner will start at 19:30, enjoy your meal!

On Thursday there are no activities. I bet nobody can give a decent answer on this:  (from Black Books)

On Friday will be our weekly breadmeal, but with a little special edition. All the leftovers – assuming there are any – will be served during the breadmeal, so you can enjoy all our delicacies a second time for only €1,50!

FUTURE MUSIC

On Monday 12/12, there’s a presentation on the culture trip. It’s in Aula B. The destination is still a surprise. If you’re curious about where we will be going to experience culture, some philosophy and a lot of fun, make sure you’re at the presentation!
