WEGWIJZER

België mag het WK dan wel niet gewonnen hebben, maar de beste ploeg ter wereld geeft niet op! Maandag begint het voetbalseizoen terug voor NFK. We verwachten jullie voor de eerste training om 20:30 voor het HIW of om 21:00 aan de KBC-hal.

De politiek geëngageerden kunnen dinsdag hun hartje ophalen op het debat over het conflict Israël-Palestina. Hiervoor verzamelen we om 19:40 voor het HIW. Vervolgens kunnen iets gaan drinken in de fakbar (M-café) vanaf 22:00.

Aooouw! Kom woensdag bij volle maan (21:00) naar de lounge en verander in een echte weerwolf. Dan kunnen we samen een hele avond weerwolven!

Profiteer vrijdag van onze €1.5 deals en kom smullen van onze ‘all-you-can-eat’ broodmaaltijd tussen 12:00 en 14:00, zoals altijd in onze teerbeminde lounge.

Mededelingen

De openingsuren van de cudi zijn aangepast, de uren zijn vanaf heden: maandag van 18:00 tot 20:00, woensdag van 14:00 tot 15:45 en vrijdag van 12:00 tot14:00.

We willen jullie nog een laatste keer warm aanbevelen om mee te komen op ons eerstejaarsweekend, dat plaatsvindt van 10 tot 12 oktober. Inschrijven kan tot en met maandag 6 oktober en betalen tot 8 oktober. Het weekend kost 30 euro, over te schrijven naar BE90 9730 0723 6032. BIC:ARSPBE22, vervoer en alcoholische drank niet inbegrepen.

Jullie hebben ook allemaal een mail gekregen in verband met de studentenbevraging, we willen jullie vragen de bevraging massaal in te vullen om zo de kwaliteit van ons onderwijs vooruit te helpen. NFK NEWSLETTER

Belgium may not have won the World Cup, but the best team in the world does not give up! Monday starts the new football season for NFK. We expect you for our first practice at 20:30 in front of the HIW of at 21:00 at the KBC-hall.

Tuesday we’re going to watch a debate about the Israel-Palestine conflict. We gather at 19:40 in front of the HIW. Afterwards we have drinks at the fakbar (M-café) from 22:00.

Aooouw! Come Wednesday at full moon (21:00) to the lounge and turn into a real werewolf. We will play the werewolf game! Before your transformation, there is an information meeting for international students, also in the lounge, at 19:00. This will be an informal chat on studying at the HIW as an international student. NFK will listen to what international students expect from a student association. Would you like spending more free time with organized activities? What kind of activities do you want to participate in? Do you want to organize something yourself? We can also talk about student representation. Basically, we want to get some input from international students about how to get them involved in the student association. We need your help!

Do not miss our €1.5 deals on Friday and enjoy our ‘all-you-can-eat’ breadmeal between 12:00 and 14:00, in the lounge.

Announcements

Book service (cudi) opening hours have been altered. From here on they are: Monday from 18:00 to 20:00, Wednesday from 14:00 to 15:45 and Friday from 12:00 to 14:00.

We want to encourage you one last time to join our freshman weekend, which takes place 10-12  October. You can sign up until Monday (October 6^th) and pay until Wednesday (October 8^th). “I can show you the world”
                  – Aladin 

En je de wereld laten zien zullen we doen! Maandag hebben wij speciaal voor de internationale studenten een rondleiding door Leuven georganiseerd. Enthousiastelingen uit het Nederlandstalige programma zijn natuurlijk ook welkom, maar deze activiteit zal in het Engels zijn. Om 18 uur verzamelen wij op het grasveldje voor het HIW. Achteraf gaan wij samen eten in Alma 1 en we sluiten af met een drankje op de Oude Markt.

“You got a friend in me”
–  Toy Story

Dinsdag om 20 uur begint Peter en Meter activiteit. Peters, meters en petekindjes zijn nog steeds welkom. Neem zeker deel als je een vriend, een compadre of een strijdmakker wil om goed gewapend je eerste jaar door te komen. Inschrijven is nog mogelijk tot maandag 22 uur, aan de valven (de borden in de hal) van het HIW. Deze activiteit eindigt in de fakbar, die vanaf 22 uur weer goddelijke verfrissingen zal schenken. Tevens vindt om 22:30 de vergaderingen plaats van deWijzer (het kringblad van NFK en de faculteit filosofie) en het fameuze NFK toneel, eveneens in de fakbar. Hierbij zal het vooral gaan om de regie; de vergaderingen voor acteurs komen pas later. Alle regisseurs, vrijdenkers, schrijver, poëten, cartoonisten en andere creatieveling, wees welkom!

– Beauty and the Beast 

Op woensdag gaan we naar de studentenwelkom van KU Leuven en LOKO (de Leuvense Overkoepelende Kring Organisatie) met leuke activiteiten en gratis goodies. Wij verzamelen om 15u in de lounge van het HIW.

“The bear necessities” (of beter: the beer necessities)
                  –  Jungle Book

De peter en meter TD vindt plaats op donderdag. Kom samen met je peter en of meter naar het zaaltje boven de Apero (oude markt) en je mag gratis binnen! Wie alleen komt betaalt slechts een enkele euro. Vanaf 2 uur ’s nachts  hebben we een speciaal optreden van twee reggae DJ’s geregeld. Zeker de moeite waard! Voor de strijders onder ons is er een betoging tegen de verhoging van de inschrijfgelden georganiseerd door de Stura (Studentenraad van de KU). Zij verzamelen om 12:30 aan het station van Leuven. De betoging vindt plaats in Brussel, samen met de andere universiteiten.

“We finish each other’s … Sandwiches!”
                  – Frozen 

Op vrijdag is er zoals altijd een broodmaaltijd. Deze zal deze keer om 12u al beginnen in onze Lounge. Maar wees gerust, ook voor laatkomers is er genoeg te eten. All you can eat voor €1,5, wie wil dat nu niet?

De openingsuren van de Cudi (cursusdienst) zijn vanaf nu dinsdag van 13.00 tot 15.00, woensdag van 14.00 tot 15.45 en vrijdag van 12.00 tot 14.00

 “I can show you the world”

And that is exactly what we are going to do this week: show you the world! On Monday, we organised an NFK guided tour through Leuven especially for you. Dutch enthusiasts are of course welcome to join us, but the tour will be in English only. We will meet at 6 o’clock in front of the HIW. Afterwards we will have diner in Alma 1, and last but not least we will end this glorious night with a drink or two at the Oude Markt.

Tuesday night is godfather and godmother night, which starts at 8 pm. Godfathers, godmothers, and godchildren who wish to participate are still welcome. If you are looking for a friend, compadre, or a brother in arms to start this year with a bang, you can still sign up for this event until Monday 22 pm! The application forms can be found in the HIW hall. We will end this night at 22 pm in the fakbar, where we will enjoy some heavenly beverages. Furthermore, the deWijzer (the philosophy faculty and NFK magazine) meeting will be held in the fakbar at 22.30. As well as the NFK Theatre meeting, but since that will be in Dutch you probably aren’t very interested. All directors, freethinkers, writers, poets, cartoonists and other creative people: We welcome you!

On Wednesday, KU Leuven and Loko (the Leuvense Overkoepelende Kring Organisatie) will host a bunch of fun activities in order to welcome our new students at the Student Welcome. I even heard that there will be some free goodies as well! We will meet up at 3 pm in the HIW Lounge.

On Thursday, we will host our Godfather and Godmother TD (partyyyy!) at the first floor of the Apero (Oude Markt). If you enter together with your godmother or godfather the entrance will be free. If you come alone, you will pay 1 euro entrance fee. From 2 am onwards, there will be a special reggae DJ performance. For the revolutionary among us, there will be a demonstration against the raising of the entry fees organised by the Stura. (Student faculty board). They will meet up at 12.30 p.m at Leuven railway station, as the demonstration will take place in Brussel together with several other universities. Please do not forget to bring some cash with you in order to buy a ticket!

On Fridays, we will host our weekly breadmeal. This event will start at noon in our lounge. However, there will be plenty of food if you come later. All you can eat for €1.5. A dream come true!

Future Music

Cudi’s (from the Dutch “Cursusdiest”, who will sell you readers and courses) opening hours are on Tuesdays from 1 pm. To 3 pm , on Wednesdays from 2 pm to 4.45 pm, and on Friday noon to 2 pm.
