It is the last week of the semester and the last Fakbar of the semester comes with it. Why not end it with a bang? After the success of the last one, NFK brings back another NFKlubNight. Our very own philosophy DJ duo ‘Frisbee’ takes on the turntable once more. So, let go of all the exam stress for one night and join us for one last party this semester before the gloomy exam season ahead.

Welcome all to the final installment (of this semester) of NFK International Movie Nights! This evening we will be watching ‘Abel’ by Alex van Warmerdam.

Alex van Warmerdam is a prolific Dutch film- and theatremaker, painter, writer, poet and musician. His debut film ‘Abel’ was written and directed by van Warmerdam and also has him playing the main role of Abel, a thirty-something shut-in who lives with his parents and doesn’t want more out of life than to cut a fly in half and watch some tv with his mother. The movie is a uniquely tragi-comical tale of (sur)real family dynamics, love, lies and confusion.

After the movie there will be time to discuss the movie. This discussion will start with a philosophical reflection on the movie by Jelger Groeneveld.

Poppel and Lapis Lazuli are two Belgian bands. The music of the first is influenced by shoegaze, janglepop and lo-fi dream pop. The second one plays Indierock.

Do you want to have a great night with friends while listening to some awesome music?

We meet at 7:45PM at the institute, the concert starts at 8PM in Leuven Central.

As a student from the 2nd BA, 3rd BA, MA and first year of the Research Master you can spend one semester at one of our international partner universities. In this infosession the application procedure will be explained and former outgoing exchange students will talk about their experiences.

First year students are encouraged to join, even if you don’t want to go on an exchange yet next academic year.

16.00 – 16.30 NFK Christmas Vigil and Choir Performance

Every student, professor, alumnus/-a and other associate of the faculty is invited for the vigil that precedes our Christmas dinner.

The HIW Choir will gladden your ears with their lovely singing, definitely worth the while. Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy a performance by our very own choir.

We hope to welcome you there and wish you all a merry Christmas!

After the vigil, at 16.40, we’ll get together at the garden in front of the HIW to walk to the Christmas dinner. It’s a 25 minutes walk and it’s of course way more fun to do it in a group!

The merriest holiday of the year is almost there! NFK is happy to invite you all on a Christmas dinner. Every student, professor, alumnus/-a and other associate of the faculty is welcome to join us on this grand day.

The reception starts at 5PM and is immediately followed by the dinner itself. You can find the menu on our website.

Because NFK doesn’t like to throw away food, we will serve the rests of the Christmas dinner on our last breadmeal. In this way, people who couldn’t make it on the NFKhristmas dinner will also have the opportunity to taste the delicious food we prepared for our students. People who were present, but can’t get enough of it or certainly also welcome. And this for only €1.5, IF you clean your dishes of course.
